Romantic French Afternoon With Orpheus
Orpheus Chamber Music Ensemble invites Alliance Française members chez David Fox to begin Orpheus' 34th season with a romantic afternoon of magnificent French cuisine and music by Debussy and Saint-Saëns at 4:00 pm. For information and reservations phone David Fox at 248-0511. March 9 Alliance Française and Fresno Filmworks co-sponsor Le Havre, a 2011 comedy-drama film written and directed by Aki Kaurismäki. Marcel Marx, a former bohemian and struggling author, has given up his literary ambitions and relocated to the port city Le Havre. Marcel's path crosses with an underage illegal immigrant from Africa. Marcel and friendly neighbors and other townspeople help to hide him from the police. In French with English subtitles. Tower Theatre, 5:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
